Upgrades over the Core 30 are a lighter tripl-butted ALX-9 frame with tapered headtube, a Recon Gold fork with tapered fork steerer plus bolted 20mm front axle for a new level of handling accuracy, a Shimano external bearing crankset and Deore shifter / SLX rear mech / Alex XCR100 rim upgrades.

Fast and light yet capable of handling any Trail Centre’s Black Runs, with the Core you can have it all in one package. For 2011 we’ve taken the triple-butted ALX-9 6069-T6 Core 40 and 50 frames a step further. Using the geometry tweaks developed while working on the Latitude Ti and 853 we’ve got the best out of the new generation of tapered steerers and bolted 20mm axles on light 120mm forks. To us, the definition of UK hardtails is this mix of technical handling ability, comfort and light weight, offering complete all-round performance. The Core 40 takes this definition to the trail.
